Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, one of our representatives from Aarya Village Travel shall meet, assist and transfer you to your hotel. You will enjoy welcome drinks while you will be briefed about your Nepal Travel Itinerary. The rest of the day will be at your leisure.
We take on of the most spectacular flights to Lukla early in the morning from Kathmandu Tribhuvan Domestic Airport. It is a 45 minute flight. Lukla, located at an altitude of 2800m above sea level is colder that Kathmandu, therefore, it is advised you have appropriate clothing. A short distance from Lukla airport we breakfast at a restaurant. You will also find bookshops, internet facilities and trekking gear here.
After our short stay at Lukla, our trek begins. On this short 3-4 hour hike to Phakding through Chaurikharka, Chiplong, Thadokovi and Ghat we see spectacular Himalayan view from Chiplong and Thadokovi. Buddhism is dominant in this region, there are many monasteries on this route, you will also come across Maane- script that is inscribed on rock in the Tibetan language. Today’s hike is not difficult Phakding, situated at an altitude of 2652m, is lower than Lukla, the temperature is comparatively warmer here. Phakding is a commercial area where you can find hotels and bhattis (shops).
After breakfast we walk through Tik-Tok, Mamju and Jorsale to reach Namche. The walk from Phakding to Jorsalle is relatively easy. The Everest National Park begins at Manju where we check in at the first checkpoint. Walking along the banks of the Dudhkoshi for an hour we reach Jorsalle where we have lunch. From here we cross the Dudhkoshi river and bridge. We then climb a steep ascent on the route. Weather permitting, we might see Mt. Everest from Thami Danda. We pass through scenic landscape, waterfalls and Manne on the way. Situated at an altitude of 3440m is Namche where the temperature drops due to the altitude. Namche is the largest commercial area in the Everest region. In addition to the magnificent views of the surrounding Himalayan Peaks, Namche also provides the traveler with all of their requirements including internet, ATM facilities.
Also, from Friday to Saturday a special type of fair held here. Bakery café and Pubs are also available in Namche.
Acclimatization is very important whilst climbing to high altitudes. So today we shall spend the time exploring the surrounding areas, you can take a short hike to 5-6 hours from Namche to Syangboche, then onward to Khumjung where we will stop for lunch. At Khumjung you can visit a monastery and a school built by Sir Edmund Hillary. All along the trail you will have a chance to see the many important Himalayan peaks. We return to Namche where you can visit a Sherpa museum. We spend the night at Namche.
The best time to start our trek is after breakfast. Today our destination is Tangboche. We head through Sanasa, Phunki Tanga. The trail is comfortable as it mostly consists of downhill paths. We stop for lunch at Phunki Tanga. The trail now is uphill to Tangboche. Again, throughout you will be surrounded by spectacular mountain views, traces of Buddhism and Tibetan culture can be seen everywhere. Tanboche is small town consisting of 5 hotels at an elevation of 3780m. Internet is available here but you should spend time viewing Ama Dablam Peak instead, as this is where you get the most stunning views.
Today we go downhill from 1500m to 500m through rhododendron and fir forests to the Dudhkoshi River. Continuing on we pass Tashinga and Sansa Villages before we reach Kyangjuma. At Kyangjuma enjoy and appreciate the views of Ama-dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse and Everest. Overnight in Kyangjuma.
We have to reach Namche Bazaar first then continue to Monjo. The trail clings to the steep wooded slope beyond Kyangjuma, winding through several bends. We keep an eye for wildlife such as mountain goats, snow leopards, colorful pheasants, etc. when passing through a forest trail. A steep descent takes us to a bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. We cross the river twice at separate locations before reaching Monjo
The trail descends steeply before it turns upwards to the airstrip in Chauri Kharka. On the way we pass Phakding and Chopling villages. The climb from Chauri Kharka is the final climb of the trek. As the local staff you met in Lukla will not be accompanying you to Kathmandu, today is the last day you celebrate your accomplishment together. Overnight in Lukla.
Fly back to Kathmandu early in the morning. After 9 – 10 AM there will be no flights because of strong wind. Check in to your hotel, where you can refresh and relax.
Evening we will go for Typical Nepali Dinner with cultural show by different ethnic group. It continues for 3 hours
Approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight a representative from Aarya Village Travel will transfer you to the airport for your onward journey.
