Arrive in Kathmandu, the cultural center of the small Himalayan country. You will be welcomed at the airport by our guide and transferred to your hotel. Rest and relax to recover from the long journey.

We start our journey in Nepal with a visit to UNESCO heritage sites. The city has magnificent monuments such as Patan Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) and Boudhanath Stupa. Be enchanted by the spectacular stupas that hold significant religious and cultural significance for the Tibetan form of Buddhism. Visit the museum, ancient courtyards and alleys of Patan to observe local artists painting gods and goddesses on canvas.

After a delicious breakfast, we drive to the northwestern city of Pokhara. This fascinating lakeside city is located about 210 km west of Kathmandu and is a very popular tourist destination. The journey will be a great experience as you will drive along a powerful river for most of the way, through picturesque greenery on both sides of the road. Once you arrive in Pokhara, you can check in to your hotel, freshen up and have some rest.

Today we drive to the World Peace Pagoda on the hilltop. We pray for peace and prosperity for all and then walk to the village of Kalabang. From this picturesque village, on a clear day, you have a spectacular view of the Annapurna and the Phewa Taal waters stretching into the surrounding hills.

Today, the city of Pokhara is our focus. After a hearty breakfast, we walk to Devi's waterfall, which gushes from the hills and disappears into a cave. Then we walk to Gupteshwor cave, which consists of limestone deposits. Later in the evening, we enjoy the beautiful day at the tranquil Phewa Lake.

Now the journey continues to the southern plains. We drive to Chitwan, which takes about 5-6 hours. You will have free time and a welcome drink. Discover the culture, lifestyle and religion of the indigenous Tharu people on a village tour. The evening will be an educational experience for you as our nature guide gives a presentation on the flora and fauna of Chitwan National Park.

Wake up to the sound of birds. On this day, explore the jungles of Chitwan National Park with an expert local nature guide to track down a one-horned rhinoceros. If we are lucky, we may catch a glimpse of the elusive Bengal tiger. Float on the Rapti River to observe exotic aquatic species along the river with stunning views of the Himalayan foothills. Enjoy the evening with an ethnic dance performance by the Tharu people.

Enjoy a last morning moment in the wilderness of the park. After breakfast, drive to Kathmandu, which takes about 5 to 6 hours. During the journey, you will witness steep moraines with dense forests and vegetation along the glistening Trishuli River. The rest of the evening is at your leisure.

After breakfast, fly to Paro. Meet your representative at the airport upon arrival and visit the impressive Rinpung Dzong fortress. Then drive to Thimphu, the charming capital of Bhutan, stopping en route at Tachog Lhakhang Temple. After crossing Chunzom, the confluence of the Paro and Thimphu rivers, reach the Thimphu Valley where you check in to your hotel and visit Kuenselphodrang to see the huge Buddha Dordenma statue and Thimphu Trashi Chho Dzong, the Buddhist monastery and fortress that is the country’s summer capital and the seat of the current King of Bhutan.

In the morning, drive over the Dochu La Pass (3140m) to see the Himalayan peaks that border northern Bhutan and visit Druk Wangyal Lhakhang (monastery). As we descend from the pass, we see changes in the vegetation. Then we hike to Chhimi Lhakhang, the fertility shrine. Further on, visit Punakha Dzong, which is situated between two rivers and serves as the winter residence for the central monastic body and is historically important. Punakha was the capital of Bhutan from 1637 to 1907 and the dzong symbolizes a unified Bhutan.

After breakfast, drive to Paro via Thimphu. Once in Paro, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the two oldest monasteries, built by the King of Tibet in the 7th century and considered the holiest monastery in Bhutan. Then drive north to see the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1649 to commemorate his victory over Tibetan forces. Although it was destroyed by fire and never rebuilt, on a clear day we can see Mount Chomolhari.

Paro's Taktsang Monastery, or Tiger's Nest, is a national treasure of Bhutan. It is perched on a granite cliff 800 meters above the valley floor. Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche, a famous Buddhist saint, flew to Paro on a tigress and meditated there. The walk takes about 2.5 hours and offers breathtaking views. The cafeteria, 1 hour from the road, offers panoramic views of the monastery. Those interested can walk another 45 minutes uphill for a better view and lunch. The descent takes less than 1.5 hours.

Our plan today is to fly back to Kathmandu and then travel to Bhaktapur, an ancient city with medieval art and architecture. It is also called the "City of Devotees" due to its great influence on religion, culture and tantrism. Upon arrival, we will take a relaxing guided walk through the Pottery Square, where traditional handicrafts are still made. The ancient method of spinning and firing clay pots is still used, contributing to Bhaktapur's thriving trade. If you wish, you can participate in the making of a clay pot and learn about this intriguing process.
