On the way, stop at Tachog Lhakhang, a temple built by engineer Thangtong Gyalpo, and admire the reconstructed iron bridge he pioneered. Travel through the stunning Dochu La pass at 3,140 meters (10,301 feet), stopping to admire the 108 stupas honoring Bhutanese soldiers. Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche, who introduced Buddhism to Bhutan, flew to this location on the back of a tigress.
