A fantastic ridge walk, with marvellous views in every direction, We have a steep ascent to get us going and then a more gradual uphill walk takes us to our camp at Ghorepani. We will pass through some delightful villages and the beautiful, dense rhododendron forest so characteristic of Nepal at these altitudes! If the weather is clear we will see the stunning views from Ghorepani , making the climb well worth it . At Ghorepani , we are on the main Annapurna Circuit route and there likely to be many travelers passing through the ridge-top settlements in both directions . Ghorepani literally means "Horse water" and is a popular stopping place for the mules trains which ply the route from Pokhara to Jomsom and beyond. The impressive peak, which can be seen across the broad valley of the Kali Gandaki to the northwest, is Dhaulagiri. We stop by lunch at Ghorepani before we trek another 2 hours to Swanta downhill.
After breakfast, we descend through the clear ground and fine-looking forest to reach the pastures of Chistibung. After this, we ascend steadily through a forest before reaching Upper Chistibung which is a temporary herder's settlement. If you are able to identify it, you might be fortunate to catch sight of the colorful Lophophorus (Danphe), the national bird of Nepal, as well as Himalayan Thar on the grassy ridge high above the trail.
To reach the ridge at Kopra, you will embark on a steady climb that carries you above the tree line. This area is noted for wildlife, so you should keep your eyes open for Himalayan tahr and Danfe pheasant. The best way to tackle the climb is to ascend steadily, take your time and rest as often as you wish. You will reach the lodge on Kopra Ridge in time for lunch and will be greeted by more awe-inspiring views. This extraordinary panorama includes Annapurna South, towering directly above you at only six kilometres away, with Fang and Nilgiri prominent to the north. Across the depths of the Kali Gandakhi Valley, the Dhaulagiri Himal dominates the entire western skyline. The Kopra Community Lodge is the highlight of our work in the region.

The holy lake for Hindus where the people from all over comes to offer prayers to Lord Shiva is formed by the glaciers of Annapurna South, Annapurna I and Annapurna Fang. After the wonderful time around the lake, descend down to Khopra Danda
From Khopra ridge, we take one of the two routes, either upper or lower route to get to Dobato. In Spring and Autumn, we take the upper route via narrow trail and enjoy the trek while admiring the majestic peaks and the landscapes of Kali Gandaki valley. In case of the winter and monsoon months, we take the lower route to avoid the adverse weather conditions which will take a bit longer comparing to the upper trail. The Trekking route is rough and narrow and taking us deep in a rhododendron forest. Further down we crossing the river on a wooden bridge and climbing up to Bayeli. The trail goes up and down and finally, we arrive in Dobato. We have magnificent Mountain View.
